OBSESSIVE TESTING AND VALIDATION ENGINEER (M/F/D)
YOUR MISSION
We need a clever, creative person to design and execute tests to prove our products work perfectly. You will ensure that the product is bug free when running in real-world environments so that customers trust our products. You are heavily involved with our systems and controls team to help validate their new ideas before we build them into products.
In the course of building up new testing infrastructure, you design for reuse and automated testing so that it’s easy to execute the tests again and again. Your testing costs are optimized to ensure wide test coverage within your budget.
You will be working with robots and robot axes on a daily basis, so a big part of your mission is to understand how the customer uses our products, and test accordingly. We happily sponsor trips to customer sites to see our products in new and interesting ways, so that you can bring that knowledge back to your lab.
YOUR PROFILE
You have a passion to obsessively root out every possible failure, and you take a lot of pride in shipping products that work perfectly.
Experience with electronics and/or mechanics is a big advantage, because you will design and build test rigs to evaluate particularly complex features. Our infrastructure is built with Python and Simulink and we use real-time DAQ hardware to build prototypes for control algorithm validation.
You have some experience in testing methodologies that help guide your effort so you can spend time efficiently evaluating the product. We are especially interested in selecting a candidate that excels in clear and effective communication, both verbally and in writing. Your written reports are clear and concise.
